Marriage

The Sacrament of Matrimony signifies the union of Christ and the Church. During the Sacrament of Matrimony, a priest or a deacon is a witness in the name of the Church. The spouses, through the grace of God, confer the sacrament upon each other. The sign of the sacrament are the vows that the couple exchanges in the presence of a priest or deacon. Their mutual consent to always love and be faithful to one another is sealed by God.  The spouses receive God’s special graces that will strengthen their marriage. They are united in the love of Christ as they become husband and wife. The priest or deacon gives the couple the blessing of the Church.
